7 February 2015

Can you all believe it's already February? It feels like it was Christmas just yesterday. Since the months are flying by, double check to make sure you're enrolled in all of your projects. It would be devastating to later find out that you can't participate because you'd forgotten to enroll.

Immediate Business
  • The next mandatory Horse & Pony meeting is February 27th at 6:30pm and is held in the Wombat room at UW-S. The project will also be a hosting a horsey auction after the meeting.
  • If you come up with any theme ideas for our fair decorations, write them down and bring them to our next meeting.
  • Remember to think of spending ideas for the club and to bring information on these activities to the next meeting (dates, prices, etc.)
  • If you have any more ideas for community builders opportunities, notify Christal Mulder.
  • Make sure to start getting out to collect show donations and if you have any, to bring them to our upcoming meeting to turn them in.
  • Everyone in 6th grade and up according to 4H will be required to give their speeches at our March meeting.
  • Remember to pay dues. They will be $3 this month if not already paid.
Upcoming Meeting
  • Our next meeting is February 19th at 6:30pm in the cafeteria at PHS.
  • The attendance question is "What is your favourite board game?"
  • Snacks will be provided by the Jarr family.
  • The educational topic is horse diseases.
  • Sign up will be available for the horse show adult committee.
Past Meeting
  • Our past meeting was January 15 in the PHS cafeteria and the attendance question was "What is your favourite thing to do on a cold winter day?"
  • We discussed the changes to this year's show bill which can be viewed online here.
  • Members received the yearly agenda.
  • Carolyn McCann bravely stepped up to take the position as fair decorations chairperson.
  • We decided to table the decision whether or not to donate to the horse sanctuary until next year.
  • Minutes from this meeting have been graciously provided by our secretary, Claire Ristow, and can be viewed here.
